WHAT'S IN ECOWOODOIL

We have listed below the natural ingredients used in our Plant Oil Technology, mainly from an Environmental, Health & Safety perspective. For those of you who are more technically minded, the table at the bottom of this page shows the function of each ingredient in more detail.

TUNG NUT OIL is a rare self drying natural oil and comes from renewable Tung Nut Tree plantations. These are mainly in Asia and have an average lifespan of 30 years. Tung Oil has been used in timber protection for centuries and is also known as China Wood Oil.
EUCALYPT OIL comes from Eucalyptus leaves grown in renewable plantations. It has been used as a natural antiseptic for years and can be found in common cough and cold medications like Vicks VapoRub.
BEESWAX is the core component of Honeycomb from Nature’s bee hives. It was the original “plastic” to be used by ancient man and has been used for hundreds of years as a sealant, including shipbuilding in Roman times.
GUM TURPENTINE comes as a bi-product of natural Rosin extraction. Rosin has been used for centuries by violin players for better bow grip, as well as in soaps and sealing wax.
PINE OIL comes as a bi-product of pulp manufacturing from renewable Pine forests. It has been used as a natural antiseptic for years. Utilising this bi-product saves the pulp manufacturers the environmental problems associated with otherwise discarding waste into our waterways.
CITRUS OIL comes from the peels of Oranges, Lemons and Limes. They are produced as a bi-product of juice manufacturing. Commonly known as d-limonene, these oils are also used in hand cleansers and cosmetics, as well as in some medicines.
LINSEED OIL comes from the seed of the commercially farmed Flax plant, which is grown for both its seeds and its fibres. Unprocessed Linseed Oil is used as a nutritional supplement, as it has high levels of Omega-3 fatty acids. It is only used in our Interior Timber Finishes.

Bees Wax	Beeswax acts as a Solid water-proofing agent, with additional biocidal properties.	The core component of Honeycomb from Bee Hives	Nature’s original “plastic” sealant – used for shipbuilding in ancient Roman times.
Gum Turpentine	Acts as a solvent to deliver Solids INTO the Timber with residues also nourishing the Timber.	A bi-product of natural Gum Rosin Extraction	Rosin has been used for centuries by violin players, as well as in soaps and sealing wax.
Pine Oil	Acts as a highly penetrative natural solvent to deliver the Solids INTO the Timber.	A bi-product of paper pulp manufacturing from renewable Pine forests.	It has been used as a natural antiseptic for years.
Citrus Oil	Acts as one of the natural solvents to deliver the Solids INTO the Timber.	This oil is a bi-product from Citrus Juice manufacturing.	Known as D’limonene, it is also used in cosmetics, hand cleansers and some medicines.
Linseed Oil	A nourishing oil deposited INTO the timber as a Solid to provide a nourishing and high quality finish. It is only used in our Interior Timber Finishes.	This oil comes from the seed of the commercially farmed Flax plant.	Unprocessed Linseed Oil is used as a nutritional supplement, as it has high levels of Omega-3 fatty acids.

Unlike most other Timber Finishes, Ecowoodoil is made only from natural ingredients, which are far more friendly to you and your family's health, as well as to the Environment.
