Woodguard Oil for seasoning new hardwood timbers

SEASONING NEW HARDWOODS

Ecowoodoil's Woodguard is an interim wood sealer and protectorant for Brand New Hardwoods that may have a high moisture or Tannin content. It requires a single (1 only) application to cater for exposed, raw timber’s needs prior to final finishing.

WOODGUARD will assist in the reduction of weather-staining, tannin (and other nutrient) leach-out, as well as structural / "shape" problems arising from rapid moisture intake / loss. Woodguard permits the timber to still “breathe” during its critical acclimatising period.

Exterior - New, untreated hardwood Decking, Joists/Bearers, Posts/Rails, Cladding, Joinery, Pergolas, Garden Furniture etc.

Interior - New feature timbers that may be exposed during construction.

FINAL FINISHING: It is important to allow Woodguard to season the timber for 2 – 3 months. This will allow your timber to better season/acclimatise and more readily accept your chosen Ecowoodoil finish.

CLEAN UP: with warm soapy water or Gum Turpentine.

COVERAGE: These estimates are quoted in square metres per litre. Actual Coverage will depend on the type of timber and its preparation. Bear in mind that unnecessarily using too much oil not only costs you more but could also lead to a tacky finish and possible whitening when moisture contacts excess oil residues.
